“We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.”

George Bernard Shaw

Caleb Kachkowski - Ford is a Toronto based Circus artist and performer, with a background in Trampoline, Parkour, Gymnastics and Martial Arts. At a very early age Caleb demonstrated an aptitude for athletics which propelled him to a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do while also participating in competitive gymnastics. Studying under Grandmaster Cees Keukens, Caleb achieved a third place finish at the GTF World Cup Championships.

While studying engineering in college he was approached by a group of people asking if he would like to try cheerleading since he was known for being a hard worker and energetic individual. He said yes, and during this time he built up strength for stunting, improved on his tumbling and competed in powerlifting, obtaining overall Junior Canadian Lifting Records for his weight class. Caleb soon after started competing All Star Cheer, helping his team become National Champions and going on to place 8th in the world.

From there, he moved into the world of Circus Arts, developing his skills and talents while learning technique and moving on to specialize in aerial rope, aerial straps and acrobatics. In 2018, Caleb and a professional contortionist, Flexy-T, began developing duo acrobatics, combining and adapting their individual backgrounds of martial arts and dance into a uniquely styled routine of friendly competition. They continue to perform for a variety of companies and events both individually and together.

In 2021, Caleb started training with Illuminair Entertainment as a part of their aerialist team, building and becoming a member of acts on Spanish Web and Trio Cube. With Caleb and Flexy-T, Illuminair created (Re)composed: a full feature circus show to Max Richter’s “Four Seasons”. With the help of the Canadian Arts Council, they were able to film the production and in May 2023 they were able to bring the full show to the live stage.

Since then, Caleb has continued to develop as an artist, building his own acts including aerial straps, fire, LED Pixel, aerial rope, and been a part of many group acts. He has performed across North America for many different styles of events. He aspires to continue developing with his peers eventually build a show that portrays his journey.

Spending most days in the gym, Caleb enjoys learning new techniques and perfecting known skills. Continually pushing himself to improve and diversify he also performs LED and Fire spinning, juggling, bungee jumping and stilting. Currently he is focused on performing and constructing routines as well as using his extensive background to branch into the film stunt industry.
